Make the Patties: In a bowl, mix ground beef with beef broth, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and soy sauce. Form into patties. Sear on medium-high heat until cooked through and browned on both sides. Set aside.

Cook the Gravy: In the same pan, sauté chopped onions and sliced mushrooms on high heat until browned. In a bowl, whisk together beef broth, ketchup, soy sauce, and cornstarch. Pour into the pan with the onions and mushrooms. Stir and simmer until thickened.
